At the Tocumen International Airport of Panama at the appropriate time for your international flight arrival. You will be returned for your departure flight.


Comfortable athletic shoes and light leisure clothing, rain jacket/poncho, mosquito repellent and sunscreen. A hat, bathing suit and sunglasses are recommended. Hiking boots recommended.

Welcome to Panama

Arrive to Panama City. A representative of EcoCircuitos will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your selected hotel in Panama City.

Santa Fe, Darien

Today after breakfast you will visit the Panama Canal at the Miraflores locks. After the visit you will be transferred to Santa Fe, Darien. Travel along the Pan-American Highway to the Darien Province,passing through check points and stopping at areas interest before having lunch at a local restaurant. We will reach Santa Fe in the afternoon, your home for the upcoming days. (B, L, D)

Volunteer Service Experience in Darien

The following days you will assist with a variety of conservation projects, organic farming and other community related activities where your support will be needed. There are different organic farming projects and a Santa Fe Artisan Cooperative, a non-profit crafts cooperative dedicated to enhance the economic and emotional well being of local women. Volunteers will assist community members in the marketing of their products which consist of organic soap and organic tea. Also in several mountain villages, volunteers will help renovate schools and clinics, assist local co-ops or help with harvesting local products. You can also work with local people making walking paths, building rain shelters, constructing bridges and planting trees while you learn and observe the beautiful nature surrounding you. In nearby rural villages, volunteers will assist with numerous community infrastructure projects identified by each community. (B, L,D)

Return to Panama City

Today prepare your backpack to return to Panama City. You will have the afternoon to relax and explore Panama City’s downtown. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant. (B, L, D)
