Los Quetzales Ecolodge and Spa is located along a river in the agricultural town of Guadalupe, 70km from David, Panama. At 7,260 feet above sea level (2,200 meters), the reserve has the highest lodging facilities in the country and lies inside the primary cloud forest of Baru Volcano National Park, which was established in 1976. The Baru Volcano is adjacent to the 407,000-acre La Amistad International Park, which straddles Costa Rica and Panama. Los Quetzales 400-hectare reserve has been protected by the private efforts of its founders in 1970. It is a privilege to be one of the only eco-vacation resorts in Panama or Costa Rica that offers overnight accommodations inside a national park. The climate varies from 75 degrees F (23 degrees Celsius) during a sunny day to 45 degrees F (7 degrees Celsius) on the chilliest winter night. But the one thing about this area that amazes most visitors, is the absence of biting insects.
Enjoy a unique eco-experience in a comfortable climate with diverse lodging accommodations from individual cabins, chalets, suites and standard hotel rooms. All rooms have mandatory conveniences such as private bath, hot water, room service, telephone service, etc. The cabins are spacious and have fireplaces and kitchenettes.
