At the Tocumen International Airport of Panama at the appropriate time for your international flight arrival. You will be returned for your departure flight.


Comfortable athletic shoes and light leisure clothing, jacket, mosquito repellent and sunscreen. A hat, bathing suit and sunglasses are recommended. Hiking boots are highly recommended.

Birding in Panama City & Jungle Boat Tour

Combine first-class birdwatching with city explorations, before getting on a jungle boat expedition into the Panama Canal Watershed. (B, lunch)

Pipeline Road & Caribbean Mangroves

Panama’s Pipeline Road – where the Audubon Society spotted 300 species of birds in a single day – is considered one of the best birding spots in the world. Climb the tower of the Rainforest Discovery Center before heading on to the Caribbean side, visiting historic pirate towns and keeping an eye out for mangrove species. (B, lunch)

Mount Totumas Cloud Forest Reserve

Stay in a secluded lodge in the middle of a private cloud forest reserve in the Chiriqui highlands of Panama. (B, L, D)

Today you will go birding around Tranquilo Bay, this property has listed over 200 species of birds on-site and over 500 from daily excursions in bird rich areas. (B, L, D)


Wetlands of San-San Pond Sak

With an area of 16,125 hectares it is a wetland of international importance and one of Panamas protected areas with the greatest diversity. Head out by boat to this natural paradise and watch out for waterbirds as you go through the channels. (B, L)

Mamoni Reserve

After returning to Panama City, continue your trip to the East and stay at the Mamoni Reserve located within the largest remaining stretch of contiguous rainforest in the Chocó-Darién-Manabí eco-region. Look out for bird species in one of the top 20 ecological hotspots on Earth.  (B, D)

Birds of the Darien

Today we will start heading towards one of the least explored, but yet most biodiverse places of Central America: the Darien. We will stop on several birding spots before reaching reaching our tent accommodation with a touch of comfort while enjoying the wilderness of the Darien around you. (B, D)

Birds of the Darien

Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the beautiful views from the camp. In the following two days you will enjoy several excursions, following a knowledgeable and experienced local guide to the hotspots of the region. (B, L, D)
